the setting
ESPACIO TRIACA
This house has been part of Sofi’s family story for decades. Originally her grandparents’ home, it has long been a place for celebrations and shared moments across generations, and where Sofi spent much of her childhood. Over time, and after several renovations, it became Espacio Triaca: a family-run space created to host meaningful occasions.
Earlier this year we celebrated New Year’s Eve at the space and Rob experienced it for the first time. It was clear to both of us that it would be the perfect setting to celebrate this second chapter with our friends and family.
your Buenos Aires guide
A FEW PRACTICAL NOTES
to help you plan your time in the city
GETTING TO BUENOS AIRES
There are currently no direct flights from London to Buenos Aires. Most guests travel via a connection in Europe or through São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. If your journey connects through Brazil, you may arrive into Aeroparque (AEP), which is often the most convenient option. International flights typically arrive at Ministro Pistarini Airport (EZE), about 45–60 minutes from the city. AEP is closer to central neighbourhoods, with travel times of around 20–30 minutes. From either airport, we recommend arranging a private transfer or official taxi on arrival.
WHERE TO STAY
We recommend staying in central neighbourhoods, where most dining, culture and sightseeing are concentrated.
Palermo, Recoleta and Barrio Norte are all well-located and ideal for exploring the city.
San Isidro, where the wedding will take place, is a quieter residential area closer to the venue, more spacious and green, though a car or transport service is usually needed.
Airbnb and short-term rentals are widely available across the city.
THINGS TO DO & EXPLORE
Buenos Aires is known for its food, culture, stunning architecture and vibrant neighbourhoods, and is best enjoyed at a relaxed rhythm.
Spend time walking through different areas, sitting in cafés (multiple times a day), visiting markets and enjoying long, late and unhurried meals.
Below are a few of our favourite guides for discovering restaurants, cafés, museums, neighbourhood walks and other local spots around the city.
TIPS & PRACTICALITIES
December is summer in Buenos Aires. Daytime temperatures are usually around 25–30°C and can reach the high 30s during heatwaves, so light clothing, sunscreen, mosquito repellent and hydration are recommended. The city follows a later rhythm, especially in summer. Most restaurants come alive from around 8:30–9:00 PM. December is a busy month, so we recommend booking restaurants and shows in advance. Credit cards are widely accepted, but it's useful to carry some cash. Revolut, it typically offers one of the best exchange rates. US dollars can also be exchanged locally, and Western Union is often the easiest option if you need to withdraw cash.

IF YOU CAN, STAY A LITTLE LONGER
below are a few of the country's most loved places
Patagonia
LAKES, MOUNTAINS AND GLACIERS OF SOUTHERN ARGENTINA.
Some of Argentina’s most dramatic landscapes. The Lake District around Bariloche and Villa La Angostura is known for alpine scenery, forests and lakeside towns. Further south, Perito Moreno Glacier offers scale and beauty, making the region one of the country's most striking destinations.

Mendoza
VINEYARDS AND VAST LANDSCAPES AT THE FOOTHILLS OF THE ANDES.
Located in western Argentina, Mendoza is best known for its vineyards, Malbec wines and relaxed pace of life. Set against the Andes mountains, the region blends wide open landscapes with long lunches among the vines, creating a destination centred around food, wine and outdoor living.
